Wine Packs
We've introduced Wine Packs including two created for the upcoming Holiday Season: Thanksgiving & Christmas. Our Thanksgiving Pack includes our 2010 Dry Riesling and two bottles of our 2009 Syrah. The Dry Riesling makes a perfect apéritif and we recommend enjoying the two reflections of our 2009 Syrah: decant one and let it breathe while enjoying the first served directly from the bottle. After enjoying the spicy and food-friendly undecanted bottle move onto the decanted wine and experience its silky texture. Order by 11/19 and you may choose free delivery of your Thanksgiving Pack to 63rd Street Farm on Tuesday 11/20 (FedEx to Colorado & California or Bicycle Delivery in Boulder is also available).

Vintage
Thanks to a warm spring the 2012 harvest arrived a month early. We typically crush Sangiovese near Halloween and press in December; this year, the Sangiovese was crushed at the end of September and has already been pressed (11/7). We crushed a total of 10.4 Tons in 2012, making it our largest production to date. Our growers produced fruit that was in fantastic condition this year and the fermentations completed smoothly.

Meanwhile we've just released our 2009 vintage reds and 2010 vintage whites which include: Sangiovese, Syrah, Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Mesa Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling and Chardonnay. The 2009 Sangiovese was one of our most limited productions with less than 19 cases produced; for fans of the 2008 vintage the 2009 won't disappoint - get yours before it's gone.

Cellar Reports
We've begun placing our cellar reports on the Wines section of our website. The cellar report provides our most recent tastings of past releases and cellaring recommendations. For those of you, who like us, are fascinated with cellaring wines check it out for insights on when it's the right time for you to pull the cork!

Gift Certificates
For those looking for gifts for your wine lovers this Holiday Season, but can't decide, we now offer Gift Certificates which can be applied towards purchase of Wine or Wine Club Memberships. Easy for you and a gift wine lovers will truly appreciate!

Events
We've scheduled several new events over the next few months. Of immediate interest, we will be at 63rd Street Farm Tuesday November 20. This is a great opportunity for you to order wine online and choose free delivery to 63rd Street Farm.

Saturday December 8th we'll be joining our friends at Nova Monda for their Holiday Party. Wine will be available by the glass, bottle, and taste.

Saturday December 15th we'll be at Oliverde Oil in Downtown Boulder. Wine will be available by the glass, bottle, and taste. We'll be offering online orders the opportunity to deliver to Oliverde for no charge on the 15th.

We hosted an Evening of Wine, Cacao, and Chocolate this past summer with Nova Monda. The event was so much fun, educational, and surprising we had to do it again. We'll be holding the event Saturday January 12 and again on Valentines Day, February 14th.

In The News
If you missed it, Settembre Cellars Bottles graced the front page of the Denver Post's Food Section this summer in an article on CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) and our collaboration with 63rd Street Farm (and our CSW Wine Shares): wine, wood fired pizza with farm fresh veggies, and even live music on select dates. Hope to see you there next year!

Denver Life's July Issue listed three of Colorado's top white wines which included our Chardonnay: "Local Wines Make Colorado Proud".

Merchants
The 2009/2010 release includes our largest release to date, about 420 cases, which enabled us to reach out to select wine retailers. You can now find Settembre Cellars Wine at our 80304 neighbor, The Boulder Wine Merchant, and at Cured on Pearl Street in Boulder! If there is a Wine Retailer where you'd like to see Settembre Cellars Wine, let them and us know!

Wine Clubs
Wine, Exclusive Bottles, Barrel Tasting, and Discounts: Check out our Wine Clubs! The September shipment is out (2008 Mesa Cabernet Sauvignon, 2009 Riesling, 2009 Chardonnay) and the December Shipment is coming right up. The Wine Club shipment price depends on the specific bottles included; typically the 3-Bottle club will run $80-110 and the 6-Bottle Club: $165-$190.

Pairing Suggestion
This pairing was introduced to us at a recent winemaker gathering. The evening's topic: bring a bottle of wine that inspires you. Needless to say, some spectacular wines were poured and insights shared as to each of our stylistic wine and winery goals. One of our winemaking friends brought this dish and we couldn't help but not recreate it as it's incredibly simple and delicious.

2009 Syrah with Goat Cheese & Walnuts

The goat cheese was the key, and this particular one is beautiful and complex. The walnuts provide a spectacular complement to the cheese. Simply crumble, or slice, the cheese and top with walnuts. Next, add wine. We chose to pair this with our 2009 Syrah. Our 2009 Syrah, despite being cellared 11 months prior to release, is still young and thus gives you several options. First option, it will cellar beautifully: lay it down. Second option, it has a great spice to it: pull the cork and pour yourself a glass. Third option, if you prefer a softer more luscious Syrah: decant it. It's a really interesting wine to explore decanting and wine evolution, give it a try, there is no wrong answer: trust your palate and enjoy. Buon Appetito!
