Newsletter Vol. 1 No. 1

May 2009

The last few months have been incredibly active here at Settembre Cellars as we prepared for our first release. All varietals from the 2007 vintage are now released. This release includes five wines: Stainless Steel Chardonnay, Barrel Fermented Chardonnay, Sangiovese Rosato, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. All of our wines are single varietal and dry, 150 cases total production.

Our website has been updated to include information about the winery, upcoming events, and an on-line wine shop. We hope you will stop by and visit the new site soon (

In the News
We were honored to be featured in an article on by Cindy Sutter in Boulder's newspaper: The Camera. We were happy to hear how many folks really enjoyed the article! If you missed it you can read the on-line version.

Bicycle Delivery
For those of you who live in North and Central Boulder we offer bicycle delivery. This option is cheaper than FedEx and better for the environment. Please consider choosing bicycle delivery if you are within the bicycle delivery zone, as shown on our website.

For those people outside of the bicycle delivery zone we also ship via FedEx within Colorado and North Dakota (Blake's home state). Interstate shipping of wines is a complicated matter. We hope to offer delivery to California soon. We are willing to consider shipping to other states as well, let us know if you have a specific need and we will look into the legalities for the state in question.

Bud Break
The signs of the 2009 vintage are upon us. We have had bud break in our Boulder vineyard and have made arrangements with our winegrowers for the 2009 harvest. We made a trip to Palisade Colorado in April to visit the vineyards and our winegrowers. We shared a glass of the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon in its vineyard and were pleased to not only sell a case of the wine but also to be given our pick of the rows for the 2009 vintage and ability to help with the management of those rows.

With early anticipation of the fall harvest a new Stainless Steel tank has already arrived in the winery and five new French Oak barrels will be bobbing across the ocean soon. In 2009 we plan to produce Chardonnay, Sangiovese, Syrah, and two single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons. We have 7 tons of fruit on order, up from 4 tons in 2008 and 3 tons in 2007.

We hope you enjoy the newsletter and new website and welcome any comments or suggestions you may have. For those of you we haven't had the opportunity to meet personally, please stop by and say hi at the next tasting!
